Yasser H. Dakroury, the founder President of the Egyptian E-learning University (EELU), is an internationally recognized scholar in the field of Computer Engineering.
Prof. Dakroury has received his B.Sc. from the faculty of Engineering at Ain Shams University in 1982 with grade Excellent with honor degree where he was appointed as a Teaching Assistant in the Computer and Systems Engineering Department in September 1982.
After having received his Ph.D. from the Ecole Centrale de Nantes (ECN) in Nantes, France, he joined the Faculty of Engineering at Ain Shams University in 1991 as a faculty member of Computer Engineering.
Later in his career, between 1994 and 1995, Prof. Dakroury worked at the Central School of Engineering at the University of Nantes as a visiting research professor. Throughout his academic career, he has specialized in teaching and managing research projects in the areas of computer networks, data security and e-learning.
Prof. Dakroury has more than 50 reviewed papers published and has supervised more than 30 Ph.D. and M.Sc. students. He also chaired numerous sessions at international conferences and acted as a principal investigator on multiple national and international projects, acting as a member of numerous academic, scientific, and technical committees (World Bank: EEDP, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, SCU: Professorship Promotion Committee,…)
Prof. Dakroury's vast expertise as a consultant in issues concerning communications and information technology, and e-learning were sought by different organizations nationally, regionally and internationally (European Union: STRIN, TEMPUS, ERASMUS+, UNDP, UNESCO, ISESCO, ALECSO). Between 2004 and 2006, he served as Director of the Information Systems Center at the Faculty of Engineering at Ain Shams University
As an act of dedication towards the development of innovative solutions in higher education and education technology, Prof. Dakroury dedicated his years to come towards the establishment of the Egyptian E-Learning University, Egypt's first e-learning university. In 2006, he moved on to work as managing director of the project to establish the Egyptian E-Learning University, which was successfully completed in 2009 when the university was established. Since then, Porf. Dakroury has served as Acting President of the Egyptian E-Learning University
